Having grown up surrounded by music, Helin considers the emotion conveyed and evoked by music to be its most vital element. “I believe that when performing a piece, an interpreter must honor the composer’s intentions, while always leaving a small piece of themselves in the music – this is how harmony between the composer, the performer, and the listener can be created.”

Helin Hallik began her guitar studies at the Tallinn Music High School under the guidance of Julia Reinman and continued her education there with Vahur Kubja and Kirill Ogorodnikov. Then at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with the acclaimed Greek guitarist Antigoni Goni and the Italian guitarist Luca Isolani. In addition, Helin has a keen interest in arranging and composition, which she has been studying in Brussels under the mentorship of Maarten Vandenbemden.

She has performed extensively both as a soloist and as an ensemble partner, and has participated in numerous masterclasses with renowned guitarists such as Margarita Escarpa, Gabriel Bianco, Paolo Pegoraro, Dušan Bogdanović, among others. Helin has achieved prize-winning placements at several international guitar competitions and, notably, participated in the 2020 television competition for young soloists, Klassikatähed (Classic Stars). She has received multiple awards and scholarships, and this season she was selected for the LIFT mentorship program by Eesti Kontsert.
